Please join us and be one of Mark Pavelich’s Teammates for Life

1980 Gold Medalist and New York Ranger Mark Pavelich didn’t ask to be the poster boy for mental illness.  However, he again found his way into the limelight despite his aversion to attention.  While Mark suffered from mental illness, he discovered how many fellow athletes were also suffering.  This inspired him to create a place where recovery could happen.  Together with NHLers Barry Beck, Clint Malarchuk, and TJ Gorence, Mark developed the vision for The Ranch – Teammates for Life.  The plan was for Mark to open the doors to tell his story.  Tragically, it didn’t work out that way.  Before dying by suicide, he asked us to “keep it going.”

The Ranch Facilities Manager, Tommy Snell, works closely with The Nest’s CEO, Shawn Kor. We share The Nest’s existing programs and have access to multiple resources through our Tradition Company’s Force for Good partners. We aim to promote research, education, and public awareness while offering help, support, and a haven for healing. The doors to The Ranch are open, but we need your support to do the work Mark desperately wanted to do to help Teammates everywhere suffering silent but devasting pain.  Please support Mark’s dream and join us at one or both of our amazing fundraising events:

  • A Fish Fry will be held on Sunday, August 18th, at former NHL Star Jordan Leopold’s Mississippi Garden in Chaplin, MN. Attendees can mingle with hockey celebrities and members of the 1980 Gold Medal team. There will be pub-style hockey trivia, meat raffles, and the chance to win a professionally guided fishing trip for 2 with NHL hockey legend and avid tournament fishing professional Reed Larson.
  • The 4th Annual Mark Pavelich Golf Scramble will be held on Monday, August 19th, at The Legends Club in Prior Lake, MN.

You can sign up for both events using this link http://fundraiser.support/TheRanch . We guarantee fun and a chance to meet some of the biggest names in hockey as we celebrate Mark’s memory.  If you are unable to attend, please look at our website and see other opportunities to help carry on Mark’s mission.

Our goal is to promote research, education, and public awareness while offering help, support, and a haven for healing.
